Interim Senior Accountant – Madrid | 3–4 Months | ASAP Start

I’m supporting an international organisation with an urgent requirement for an Interim Senior Accountant to support its finance operations in Madrid during a period of transition.

This is a hands-on assignment for someone who can get up to speed quickly, take ownership and operate independently with minimal onboarding.

The assignment will cover:

  • Month-end close and reporting across multiple Spanish entities/properties
  • US GAAP and Spanish/local GAAP reporting
  • Balance sheet ownership, VAT, fixed assets, intercompany, AP/AR and cash
  • SOX controls, statutory compliance and audit support
  • Working closely with FP&A to explain actuals and key movements
  • Supporting an Assistant Accountant and providing continuity across the finance function

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong accounting experience within an international environment
  • Knowledge of Spanish GAAP and US GAAP
  • Experience within a SOX-controlled environment
  • Strong Excel and ERP systems experience
  • Spanish language skills are highly desirable
  • Property/real estate accounting experience would be advantageous
