The Opportunity
 
This is not your typical mechanic role.
 
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join a highly respected machinery business based in Hastings.
 
This position offers a varied mix of workshop-based repairs and field service work, supporting customers across a range of specialised machinery and equipment.
 
You will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing advanced hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and electronically controlled systems.
 
The role requires a high level of technical expertise, strong fault-finding ability, and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out mechanical servicing and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and engine faults
• Providing workshop and field service support
• Reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics
• Maintaining machinery to a high professional standard
• Delivering exceptional customer service
• Assisting with light engineering and fabrication work as required

What We're Looking For

• Proven mechanical service and maintenance experience
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience working with hydraulic and electrical systems
• Ability to understand technical manuals, hydraulic diagrams, and schematics
• Trade qualification in heavy diesel, mobile plant, mechanical engineering, or similar (preferred)
• Reliable, self-motivated, and professional
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
