EQUIP People are looking for an experienced Precast Formwork Carpenter to join a well-established Christchurch precast operation.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong work ethic, an eye for detail, and a commitment to producing quality work.
You'll be involved throughout the manufacturing process, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
If you're someone who can read and interpret plans confidently, that's considered a huge advantage.
What You'll Be Doing
- Reading and interpreting plans and production drawings
- Constructing and setting up formwork and moulds
- Placing and checking reinforcing steel
- Assisting with concrete pours and finishing activities
- Stripping and preparing precast products safely and efficiently
- Completing quality and dimensional checks
- Working alongside the wider production team to meet deadlines
- Supporting less experienced team members where required
- Maintaining a strong focus on health and safety standards
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience within the precast concrete industry
- Minimum 3-4 years' practical experience on commercial precast projects in New Zealand
- Strong understanding of quality standards and production tolerances
- Reliable, self-motivated and committed to producing quality work
- Positive attitude with the ability to work well within a team environment
- Commitment to safe work practices
Highly advantageous:
- Ability to confidently read and interpret plans and drawings
- Forklift experience
- Crane, dogging or rigging experience
- Previous experience mentoring junior team members
