We are working exclusively with a Defence client to place an experienced Digital SME on a long-term contract starting 1 July 2026. This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of Army's digital integration effort, supporting some of Australia's most complex and high-priority Land capability programs.
The Role
You will serve as a trusted expert advisor, providing digital integration advice across Land, Joint, and Coalition environments. Your initial focus will be the Littoral Manoeuvre Program, with broader support across multiple Land capability programs as required. Day to day you will be developing integration requirements, leading the production of LCS Design products, providing formal technical advice and Integration Certificates, and engaging with stakeholders across Defence and coalition partners.
This is not a generalist role. The client is looking for someone with advanced practitioner depth in at least one of the following areas:
Tactical or enterprise networking | Military C4 software systems | Tactical data links (TADL) | Enterprise architecture (CIOG-aligned) | Distributed systems | RF, SATCOM or MUOS bearers and waveforms | Large-scale software systems | Autonomous military systems | AS GxA (GVA, LDM, VSOE) | Fires systems integration
What You Need
Active NV1 security clearance (NV2 upgrade may be required over the engagement). Relevant tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering, or IT, or equivalent Defence experience. Ability to meet ITAR compliance requirements. This role is on-site in Symonston ACT with remote work by exception only. Domestic and international travel may be required.
Desirable
Prior Defence, AHQ, or coalition environment experience is highly regarded, as is exposure to the Defence Capability Model, systems engineering lifecycle including V&V and test and evaluation, and program or project management.
We are an inclusive employer committed to fostering a diverse and accessible workplace. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, people of all ages, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
