Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Advisor to provide expert ICT security guidance across a range of initiatives and operational environments. This role will support cybersecurity governance, risk management, compliance activities, security assurance, and project delivery while helping to strengthen the organisation's overall security posture.
Working alongside key stakeholders, you will contribute to the development of security policies, provide specialist advice on technology projects, undertake security assessments, and support compliance with relevant government security frameworks.

What will you be doing?
- Conduct cyber security risk assessments and develop System Security Plans in accordance with applicable government security frameworks, including the Information Security Manual (ISM) and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
- Perform security certification and accreditation activities for government ICT systems.
- Assess vulnerabilities, threats, and security controls to determine residual risk and ensure alignment with protective security obligations.
- Prepare, maintain, and review accreditation artifacts, including security documentation, risk assessments, compliance evidence, and security plans.
- Support security audits, independent assessments, and assurance activities to validate compliance with government security requirements.
- Provide expert cyber security advice to projects and business stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of ICT security practices, processes, and procedures.
Skills and experience required to succeed in this role?
- Security architecture and secure-by-design principles.
- Network security and enterprise infrastructure protection.
- Cyber security risk assessment and threat analysis.
- Cyber governance, compliance, assurance, and risk management.
- Security accreditation and authorisation processes.
- Government security frameworks, including the ISM and PSPF.
- Development and management of cyber security documentation and compliance evidence.
- Work onsite in Canberra, ACT.
Clearance required?
- NV1 Clearance or above.
