Searson Buck has been engaged by Dulverton Waste Management to manage the recruitment of a Non-Executive Director appointment.
Dulverton Waste Management (DWM) is entering its next phase of development and is seeking an exceptional Non-Executive Director to join its Board. This is an opportunity to contribute to the governance and strategic direction of a well-established regional authority delivering essential services across North West Tasmania.
DWM is owned by four local councils and operates as a Joint Authority, providing landfill management, organics processing, and resource recovery services. Following significant investment in infrastructure, including the Dulverton Organics Treatment Facility, the organisation is continuing to evolve in response to changes in the waste and resource recovery sector.
As a DWM Director, you will:
Joining the DWM Board offers an opportunity to contribute to an organisation delivering critical infrastructure and community services, while supporting its continued transition toward innovation, sustainability and long-term resource recovery outcomes.
You will join a small, skills-based Board supported by a capable executive team, with a focus on practical outcomes, strong governance and ongoing operational improvement.

As a DWM Director, you will:
- Contribute to the organisation’s long-term strategy, ensuring strong governance and sound decision making
- Provide independent oversight across financial performance, risk and operational outcomes
- Support the balance between environmental responsibility, commercial sustainability and community expectations
- Provide constructive input to the CEO and executive team while maintaining appropriate governance boundaries
- Act as an ambassador for DWM, supporting strong relationships with councils, government and community stakeholders
- Utilities or infrastructure environments, particularly within regional or publicly accountable settings
- Project delivery and oversight, including large-scale or operationally complex projects
- Contract management, including exposure to significant or long-term commercial agreements
- Legal and governance capability, including procurement, compliance and operating within a local government or regulated context
- Stakeholder engagement, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across councils, community and industry
