Emanate Technology is partnering with a leading defence organisation to recruit a Digital Tools Governance Specialist to support engineering teams across complex maritime programs.
We are specifically seeking candidates with a design engineering background who have been hands-on users of CAD, PLM and/or PDM systems, and who also understand how these tools are used in real engineering environments.

We are specifically seeking candidates with a design engineering background who have been hands-on users of CAD, PLM and/or PDM systems, and who also understand how these tools are used in real engineering environments.
The Opportunity You will work directly with design engineers, acting as the bridge between engineering teams and internal technology providers.
Your role is to:
- Support and optimise engineering design tools
- Understand why engineers require changes or enhancements
- Translate engineering needs into system improvements
- Assist with governance, configuration, and compliance of digital design tools
Essential Background To be considered, you must have:
- A design engineering background (mechanical, electrical, structural, systems or similar)
- Practical experience as a user of 2D and/or 3D CAD tools
- Experience working with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and/or PDM (Product Data Management) systems
- Understanding of engineering change processes and controlled design environments
- Experience working in production, manufacturing, shipbuilding, defence or industrial engineering environments
- Supporting engineers with CAD, PLM and PDM tools
- Configuring and governing digital engineering systems
- Managing tool improvements and change requests
- Liaising between engineering teams and IT/service providers
- Providing user support, training and process guidance
- Ensuring tools align with compliance and engineering standards
- Experience with enterprise systems (ERP, document management)
- Defence or regulated engineering environment experience
- Understanding of engineering governance and configuration control
