Head of Technical Operations

We're looking for an experienced Head of Technical Operations to lead the delivery of technical services across live production, outside broadcast and supporting IT infrastructure.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the successful planning, delivery and continuous improvement of technical operations, leading multidisciplinary teams and maintaining the highest standards of broadcast excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical operations across live production, outside broadcast and IT infrastructure.
• Plan and allocate technical resources, equipment and crews.
• Oversee broadcast systems, studio facilities and network infrastructure.
• Drive operational improvements, reliability and technical performance.
• Manage departmental budgets, suppliers and technical projects.
• Lead, mentor and develop technical teams.
• Work closely with production and commercial teams to deliver successful live broadcasts.

About You

You'll have:

• Significant experience in a senior technical operations role within live production, broadcast or outside broadcast.
• Strong knowledge of broadcast workflows, studio systems and IT infrastructure.
• Experience leading technical teams and managing operational resources.
• Budget management and supplier management experience.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

• Experience with IP-based production, remote production and cloud workflows.
• Knowledge of broadcast standards and compliance.
• Degree or equivalent in Broadcast Engineering, Media Technology, IT or a related discipline.
