Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Sanitation Associate to support food manufacturing operations in Brockport, NY. This temp-to-perm position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, machinery, and facility areas while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and sanitation standards. Pay Rate:
- $17.20 - $20.00/Hour (Based On Experience)
Shift(s):
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM | Monday - Friday
Job Duties:
- Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, work areas, and cold storage areas according to established procedures
- Follow sanitation processes to maintain food safety and quality standards
- Safely handle and apply approved cleaning chemicals and sanitation agents
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when cleaning and servicing equipment
- Prepare production equipment and work areas for upcoming shifts
- Maintain sanitation tools, supplies, and equipment in proper working condition
- Inspect areas for cleanliness and identify potential food safety or quality concerns
- Report sanitation issues, equipment concerns, or safety hazards to leadership
- Complete required sanitation records and documentation accurately
- Follow GMP, HACCP, SQF, and all company safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Previous sanitation, janitorial, manufacturing, or food production experience preferred
- Experience handling cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment preferred
- Understanding of basic food safety and workplace safety practices preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow written procedures and safety instructions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation required
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a food manufacturing environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive movements throughout the shift
- Ability to lift, move, and handle equipment or materials as needed
- Comfortable working around moisture, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures
- Ability to work in refrigerated and cold storage areas
- Must wear required PPE and follow all food safety and workplace safety requirements
- Ability to perform physical sanitation duties while maintaining quality and safety standards
