Group Leader Supply Chain Manager

Overview:

• The position reports directly to the managing director, Japan
• The responsibility includes developing and monitoring a Company’s supply chain strategy. The goal is to improve productivity and efficiency and reduce costs while securing high quality material for the company.
• The position requires analyzing operational performance and resolve issues.  Also, collaborating with vendors and suppliers to ensure all operations such as shipping, delivery etc. meet quality and safety standards

Main responsibilities:

• Ensures that material/products arrive in time / in specified quality at customer site on time negotiates and coordinates material flow with production planning department and logistics department of the business units
• Monitor logistics to make sure they run smoothly, and resolve issues that come up (e.g. delays in delivery, accidents)
• Maintain supply chain inventory and records
• Develop and implement safety guidelines and business continuity plans in all aspects of the supply chain
• Ensure supply chain processes meet legal and corporate requirements and standards
• Communicate, negotiate, and expand business with external service providers/vendors (warehouses, forwarders, quality assurance personal etc.) to reduce
• Manages and expand business partnership with business units, especially on quality issues (lessons learned, Yokoten) by reporting internal PPM rates and coordinating external QA vendors for warehouses with support of A Company quality
• Analyze data from shipping and delivering processes to find bottlenecks and other issues and optimizes supply chain to customer develops road-map for supply chain cost control under increasing sales growth / increase of sales points for management
• Collaborate with the business units to create plans for business growth and developing the company’s mid-to-long-term supply chain strategy
• Leads, coaches, and develops employees in daily business.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor Degree: Supply chain management / logistics, or comparable degree
• Min. of 3 years in supply chain management / logistics in managing function / group leader with at least 2 reports or more
• Change management, project management experience.
• Strong experience with SAP in Supply Chain environment
• Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Creative and independent problem-solving
• Strong communication skills

Language:

• Native Japanese language (MUST)
• Fluent English
