Application Engineer (Microservices / Platform Engineering) 068

An Asian Insurance firm is seeking an Application Engineer to support the development, modernization, and operation of shared service platforms and enterprise application environments used across the organization.
This role sits within the IT Service Delivery Department and focuses on application development, API services, DevOps initiatives, container platform migration, and modernization of enterprise system architecture.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain enterprise applications and shared service platforms
- Support system development activities including requirement gathering, design, development, testing, and validation
- Participate in modernization initiatives related to DevOps pipelines, Microservices, and container-based architectures
- Support BAU activities including issue investigation, operational support, and enhancement requests
- Collaborate with business users to identify operational challenges and improvement opportunities
- Participate in Agile-based development and DX initiatives
- Coordinate with development vendors and external partners
- Support project management activities including schedule, resource, and budget coordination
- Contribute to API development and shared platform optimization initiatives

Required Skills:
- 3+ years of system development experience using databases
- 3+ years of application development experience using Java, Python, ETL, or related technologies
- Experience with enterprise application development and operational support
- Experience with requirement definition, design, development, and testing activities
- English communication ability via email and chat
- Understanding of Microservices architecture or container technologies preferred
- Experience with batch development and operation using PowerShell or MS-DOS preferred

Working Hours: Full flex time (no core hours)
Working Style: 3 days’ work in office, and 2 days’ work from home
