A world’s leading cloud service provider is seeking a talented and innovative Senior Prototyping Engineer to join its Prototyping & AI Customer Engineering team in Japan.
In this customer-facing technical role, you will work closely with enterprise customers, Solutions Architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to rapidly validate new ideas, products, and business models through AI-powered prototyping, lean experimentation, and cloud-native development. You will design and build rapid MVPs, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and innovative solutions leveraging cloud services, Generative AI, and emerging technologies.
This position is ideal for professionals with a background in software engineering, cloud architecture, distributed systems, cloud-native application development, or technology consulting who enjoy combining technical innovation, customer engagement, and modern cloud technologies to solve complex business challenges.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver rapid prototypes, MVPs, and proof-of-concept (PoC) solutions for customers
- Collaborate with customers to understand business challenges and transform ideas into working technical solutions
- Build cloud-native applications leveraging cloud services, Generative AI, and emerging technologies
- Design and implement distributed systems, APIs, databases, workflow automation, and scalable cloud architectures
- Participate in full-stack software development across frontend, backend, cloud, and AI components
- Work within agile, cross-functional engineering teams to rapidly iterate and deliver customer outcomes
- Apply lean startup and experimentation methodologies to validate new concepts and business opportunities
- Champion DevOps best practices, operational excellence, scalability, security, and performance
- Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to both business and technical stakeholders
- Contribute to technical innovation and thought leadership across customer engagements
- Support enterprise customers across Japan, including occasional travel to customer sites

Required Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, infrastructure, cloud computing, or technology consulting
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud computing, systems architecture, infrastructure, networking, security, or data & analytics
- 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, or consulting on complex applications and infrastructure solutions
- Strong software development experience using Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Expertise in distributed systems design and implementation
- Strong understanding of cloud-native application development and modern software architecture principles
- Experience designing and implementing APIs, databases, automation workflows, and scalable cloud platforms
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, and operational excellence
- Strong understanding of security best practices in application and cloud environments
- Experience architecting, building, or operating solutions on cloud platforms
- Working knowledge of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, or Machine Learning technologies
- Experience delivering customer-facing consulting or solution implementation projects
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
