Head of Logistics

EMEA Recruitment is working with an international business to recruit a Head of Logistics as part of an exciting period of growth and transformation.

This is an opportunity for an experienced logistics professional who enjoys building, developing and shaping operations, rather than simply managing established processes.

Our client is looking for someone who can bring strategic thinking, hands-on operational expertise and strong stakeholder management skills to help develop a scalable, commercially effective logistics operation.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the German logistics market, ideally with experience gained within a 3PL, parcel delivery, e-commerce or similarly fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Logistics:

• 
  Develop and drive the logistics operational strategy, ensuring alignment with wider commercial and business objectives
• 
  Build, develop and manage relationships with 3PL providers, carriers and key external partners
• 
  Identify opportunities to establish and improve logistics capabilities, processes and operational structures
• 
  Lead operational transformation and continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on efficiency, service delivery and customer experience
• 
  Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to influence decisions and deliver operational objectives
• 
  Provide strategic oversight while remaining hands-on and involved in day-to-day operational challenges
• 
  Develop and monitor operational KPIs, ensuring accountability, performance and continuous improvement
• 
  Bring insight into the German logistics market to support operational planning, commercial decisions and future growth

Experience & Skills Required:

• 
  Senior logistics operations experience, ideally within 3PL, parcel delivery or e-commerce
• 
  Strong understanding of the German logistics market and carrier networks
• 
  Experience building, developing or transforming logistics operations
• 
  Commercially astute, with a focus on performance, cost and customer experience
• 
  Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
• 
  Collaborative, pragmatic and solutions-focused, with strong relationship-building skills
• 
  Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to operational delivery
• 
  Entrepreneurial mindset, with the drive and adaptability to build and create
