Position Summary
The Analytical Development team is seeking a highly motivated and scientifically curious professional to support the development of small molecule drug substances and drug products. This role will focus on developing innovative analytical technologies, establishing analytical control strategies, and supporting chromatographic method development using Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC).
The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in analytical chemistry and organic chemistry, hands-on laboratory experience, and expertise in chromatographic techniques including SFC, HPLC/UPLC, UV, and LC-MS. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge pharmaceutical development within a collaborative research environment.
Key Responsibilities
Analytical Method Development
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot analytical methods using Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC).
- Support analytical control strategy development for small molecule drug substances and drug products.
- Design and execute experiments under the guidance of the manager.
- Establish analytical protocols and support method lifecycle activities.
Laboratory Testing & Analysis
- Analyze samples using HPLC, UPLC, and SFC systems coupled with UV and/or mass spectrometry detection.
- Perform routine laboratory activities and maintain accurate experimental records.
- Utilize analytical instrumentation and associated software for data acquisition and processing.
Data Analysis & Documentation
- Analyze and interpret analytical data and experimental results.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, and scientific documentation.
- Maintain compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and laboratory recordkeeping standards.
- Support data review and reporting activities.
Scientific Collaboration
- Participate in project meetings and scientific discussions.
- Attend relevant seminars and training sessions related to therapeutic small molecule development.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and scientific excellence.
Required Qualifications
Education
- MS or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
Experience & Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with HPLC/UHPLC systems and associated software.
- Direct experience with Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC) is required.
- Understanding of liquid chromatography (LC) separation principles.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of analytical techniques including:
- HPLC/UPLC
- SFC
- UV Detection
- LC-MS
Laboratory Skills
- Proficiency with basic laboratory techniques, including:
- Pipetting
- Solution preparation
- Sample handling
- Centrifugation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with analytical method development in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience supporting drug substance and drug product development programs.
- Familiarity with regulatory documentation and pharmaceutical development workflows.
