Venture Capitalist (Startup Investment Team)

Introduction

We are currently supporting a leading institutional investment firm in the search for a highly motivated professional to join their growing startup and impact investment team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of venture capital, public equity, and social impact, focusing on purpose-driven late-stage startups and sustainable long-term engagement.

About the Role

This position is part of a dedicated unit focused on crossover and impact investments. The successful candidate will be involved in evaluating and investing in late-stage startup companies that are addressing critical social issues, as well as participating in long-term engagement initiatives post-IPO. The team’s mission includes driving positive societal change while delivering sustainable financial returns.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate late-stage startups with strong potential for both impact and financial return
• Execute investments that align with the team’s crossover and impact strategy
• Engage in stewardship activities, including long-term engagement with portfolio companies post-listing
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support ESG-related goals and initiatives
• Monitor and analyze industry trends, market developments, and the impact landscape
• Contribute to the development of thought leadership in impact and sustainable investment

Requirements

Must-Have:

• Strong interest in solving social challenges through investment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

• Experience or strong knowledge in corporate finance
• Practical experience in stewardship, impact investing, or ESG-related initiatives
• Background in venture capital or managing small-cap listed equities
• Previous experience in consulting or working with mission-driven organizations
