Payroll Officer

Leading provider of nursing recruitment services on the lookout for an experienced Payroll Officer to join busy this Payroll team. You will manage a high-volume, end-to-end weekly payroll function and ensure their nurses are paid accurately and on time. This is an initial 3-6 month contract role with potential to extend.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys owning the payroll process, working closely with internal teams, and delivering exceptional service to employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end weekly payroll processing for a large workforce of nursing professionals
• Process timesheets, allowances, penalties, overtime, deductions and adjustments accurately
• Interpret and apply relevant awards, agreements and payroll legislation
• Ensure compliance with payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG and employment obligations
• Resolve payroll queries from employees, contractors and internal stakeholders
• Maintain accurate payroll records and complete reconciliations and reporting
• Work closely with recruitment, finance and operations teams to streamline payroll processes

To be considered for this role you will:

• Have proven experience in an end-to-end payroll position
• Strong understanding of weekly payroll processing in a high-volume environment
• Experience interpreting awards and complex pay conditions
• Healthcare, nursing, aged care or recruitment payroll experience highly desirable 
• Familiarity with nursing awards and shift-based pay structures advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work autonomously
