Working with an established and highly respected building services organisation delivering HVAC&R solutions across major commercial property portfolios throughout Australia. The business has extensive experience across construction, fit-outs, refurbishments, engineering and long-term asset management, with a strong presence across the commercial and retail sectors.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior HVAC Project Manager to take ownership of a major $10m mechanical HVAC refurbishment project within a large shopping centre.

This is a long-term opportunity with a strong pipeline of projects behind it. The successful candidate will need to be more than technically capable — they need to be commercially sharp, confident managing builders and consultants, and comfortable taking ownership of project outcomes.

You will be responsible for managing the project from commencement through to completion, while building strong relationships with the builder, client and wider project team.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the delivery and commercial management of major HVAC projects
• Manage budgets, procurement, variations, forecasting, subcontractors and project reporting
• Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, clients, consultants and key stakeholders
• Manage builder expectations and resolve commercial, technical and programme issues throughout the project
• Lead project teams to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior HVAC Project Manager / Project Manager within the commercial construction sector
• Strong commercial capability, with a proven understanding of budgets, variations, forecasting, procurement and project margins
• Demonstrated experience delivering new builds, commercial fit-outs and major refurbishments
• Strong understanding of HVAC/mechanical services and the ability to confidently manage builders, consultants and subcontractors
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to take ownership and drive project outcomes
