About the Role
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Frame & Truss Designer / Estimator to join their in-house design team.

This is a senior position responsible for producing accurate, buildable and commercially sound timber frame and truss designs while supporting a diverse range of residential and medium-density projects.

Initially, your primary focus will be the design and estimating of timber wall frames, roof trusses and floor trusses. As you establish yourself within the team, you will have the opportunity to expand your expertise into advanced prefabricated building systems, including panelised walls, cassette floors and other innovative offsite construction solutions.

Working closely with builders, architects, engineers, developers and internal production teams, you will play an integral role in delivering high-quality outcomes from concept through to manufacture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and estimate timber wall frames, roof trusses and floor trusses.
• Produce accurate quotations and material estimates.
• Interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Liaise with builders, engineers, architects and developers to ensure practical and compliant design outcomes.
• Provide technical advice and resolve design challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure designs meet relevant Australian Standards, engineering requirements and company quality expectations.
• Collaborate with internal production and scheduling teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Progressively contribute to the design of panelised wall systems, cassette floors and other prefabricated building solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, accuracy and customer outcomes.

Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Proven experience designing and estimating timber frame and truss systems.
• Proficiency using Pryda Build, MiTek, Alpine or equivalent frame and truss software.
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods and structural principles.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
• A highly organised, methodical and detail-oriented approach.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to delivering accurate, commercially practical solutions.
• The ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Highly regarded:

• Experience with panelised or prefabricated building systems.
• Exposure to HSBCad or an engineering background.
