Morgan Consulting is delighted to partner with a large and highly regarded organisation as they look to appoint an experienced Category Manager / Senior Category Specialist to join their procurement function.
Operating across a complex and highly diverse stakeholder environment, the organisation manages significant third-party expenditure across a broad portfolio of goods and services. The incumbent will be tasked with supporting a range of indirect categories, leading complex sourcing, tendering, negotiation and contracting activities.
This is a strategic, commercially focused role suited to an experienced indirect procurement generalist who enjoys variety, working across multiple spend categories and partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver strong commercial outcomes.
About The Role
Reporting to a the Head of Indirect Procurement, you will manage procurement activity across a diverse portfolio of indirect spend, independently leading multiple complex procurement projects from initial market analysis and sourcing strategy through to negotiation, contracting and implementation.
You will work closely with senior leaders and broader internal stakeholders to understand requirements, identify procurement opportunities and deliver sourcing strategies that achieve strong commercial, operational and sustainability outcomes.

You will be comfortable moving between categories, quickly understanding stakeholder requirements and supplier markets, and developing sourcing strategies that deliver strong commercial outcomes.

- Leading complex end-to-end strategic sourcing and procurement projects
- Developing and executing sourcing and category strategies
- Conducting market analysis, bench-marking and supplier research
- Developing tender documentation and managing competitive sourcing processes
- Managing market engagement, tender evaluation and supplier selection
- Leading commercial negotiations and contract development
- Negotiating contracts, service level agreements and commercial terms
- Managing supplier and vendor performance
- Identifying cost-saving, value creation and commercial improvement opportunities
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to understand current and future procurement requirements
- Using spend and procurement data to identify trends and commercial opportunities
- Driving continuous improvement across procurement processes and category performance
- Supporting sustainable and socially responsible procurement initiatives
- Ensuring procurement activities meet appropriate governance, compliance and probity requirements
