About the Role

The school is seeking a Health Teacher to join its secondary teaching team from Term 1, 2027.

This is specifically a Health teaching position, with no PE component forming part of the teaching load. The school is looking for a teacher with strong Health curriculum knowledge who can deliver engaging programs and support students in developing their understanding of health, wellbeing and informed decision-making.

The successful candidate will initially be offered a fixed-term contract through to the end of the 2027 school year. There is potential for renewal and permanency thereafter, subject to suitability and performance.

Skills and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Health lessons.

• Teach Health as the primary subject area, with no PE teaching required.

• Develop students’ understanding of health, wellbeing and positive lifestyle choices.

• Assess student learning and provide meaningful feedback to support progress.

• Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive classroom practice.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the wider school community.

Requirements

• Current VIT registration or eligibility to obtain VIT

• Relevant secondary teaching qualifications

• Strong knowledge and capability in Health education

• Ability to create an engaging and well-managed classroom environment

• Willingness to respect and support the Islamic ethos and values of the school

• Full Australian working rights

• Two professional referees and completion of HARKE’s safeguarding onboarding
