Sr. Material Coordinator

Yoh Life Sciences is hiring for a Sr. Material Coordinator to support a medical device customer in San Diego, CA.   The Senior Material Coordinator will be focused on inventory management and warehousing operations, while also supporting basic manufacturing and assembly operations. This role involves receiving, inspecting, and staging materials, fulfilling sales orders, and assisting with production tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and strong organizational skills are essential.

Location: Kearny Mesa, CA 
Duration: 3 month contract-to-hire
Pay Rate: $26-28/hr
Shift: Mon - Friday day shift

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving & Inspection: Unload and receive incoming materials, operate warehouse equipment safely, validate stock locations, inspect for defects, and document results in ERP and QMS systems.
• Inventory Management: Perform routine inventory counts, monitor stock levels, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate records in ERP and inventory systems.
• Kitting & Material Prep: Pick, stage, and validate components for production according to work orders, ensuring accuracy and readiness for assembly.
• Packaging & Fulfillment: Support packaging, labeling, and shipping operations to meet quality standards and ensure timely, accurate outbound order fulfillment.
• Manufacturing & Assembly: Assemble medical devices and components per detailed instructions and SOPs, while documenting production activities accurately.

Requirements

• Experience in inventory control or warehouse operations; medical device manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and follow detailed instructions and SOPs.
• Basic understanding of quality control principles and ERP systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and inventory software.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ISO 13485 and FDA regulatory requirements.
• Experience with inbound inspection and document control activities.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Working Conditions

• Ability to stand, walk, and move within the production area for long periods.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
• May be required to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs.

 

Estimated Min Rate: $19.60
