Apply directMAYDAY Recruitment is partnering with Australia's largest funeral services provider to recruit an experienced Development Coach to support the development of Funeral Directors and Funeral Director Assistants across South Australia.
This newly created role is focused on developing capability, delivering structured onboarding and coaching, and supporting frontline teams to provide exceptional service to families. About the role
Reporting to the General Manager, this role is based from the Torrensville Head Office and will involve regular travel to regional locations across South Australia to support frontline teams.
You will partner closely with operational leaders to deliver structured onboarding, coaching and capability development across the region. You will identify development opportunities, provide targeted coaching and help teams build confidence, capability and commercial outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver structured induction and onboarding programs for new team members.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and regular performance feedback.
- Facilitate engaging group training sessions across multiple locations.
- Partner with leaders to identify capability gaps and develop targeted coaching plans.
- Build trusted relationships with frontline teams and operational stakeholders.
- Collaborate on the design and continuous improvement of training content and coaching frameworks.
- Support continuous improvement, team engagement, retention and commercial outcomes.
About you
You are an engaging coach who enjoys developing people and influencing positive behavioural change. You have the ability to build credibility quickly, foster trusted relationships with frontline teams and create an environment where individuals feel supported to grow.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring or developing frontline teams.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to motivate others.
- Experience facilitating engaging training sessions for medium-sized and diverse groups.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative approach with a passion for developing people.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel across South Australia.
- Funeral industry experience is highly regarded but not essential. Candidates from learning and development, healthcare, aged care or other service-based industries are encouraged to apply.
