Summary of Responsibilities
This position is responsible for Implement the Quality Assurance program at UUSA. Participate in the performance of independent audits, surveillances, and inspections of organizations within UUSA and Suppliers outside UUSA. Participate in complex inspections such as receipt inspections, structural inspections, weld inspections, NDE inspections, mechanical and/or electrical inspections according to established procedure. Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of NQA-1 and ISO Standards inspection processes, procedures and criteria for effective and efficient control of quality in all aspects of the operating facility.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree
- ISO-9001 Certification
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1+ years of commensurate work
- Work Location: UUSA, Eunice, NM
- Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week.
- Work Schedule: Professional 9/80 work schedule with minimal night/weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed
- Travel Required: 20% of the time or less as required
- Security Clearance Requirement: Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required
- Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc.
- Physical Demands of Position: This job operates in an industrial, chemical and radiological plant environment. There is frequent walking, bending, standing, lifting of loads up to 50 pounds and climbing stairs throughout the plant. (Accommodation available upon request)
- Participate in the performance of independent NQA-1 and ISO audits, surveillances, and inspections of organizations within UUSA and Suppliers outside UUSA. Develop plans, checklists and schedule for completion of the activities according to site requirements. Identify findings/issues/non-conformances during audits and surveillances to determine program quality and identify negative performance trends.
- Participate in complex inspections such as receipt inspections, structural inspections, weld inspections, NDE inspections, mechanical and/or electrical inspections according to established procedure. This may require the use of special testing and inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, vision systems, height gages, pin gages and other special purpose inspection tools.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of QA manuals (including ISO standards), implementing procedures and desktop guides to verify compliance with industry codes and standards, NRC regulations and regulatory commitments.
- Provide guidance for and support ISO auditors and other quality control inspectors.
- Comply with established company policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety and environmental standards.

Compensation starting at: $ 86189 - $ 131094 / year and up dependent on candidate experience.
