We are partnering with a leading digital platform organisation to engage a Solution Architect for a major global platform transformation programme. This is a high impact contract role working on a complex, event driven, distributed system supporting real time, high volume transactions across multiple international markets.

The platform is built predominantly on in-house Java based services with extensive internal and external integrations. We are seeking a strong software focused architect who understands how modern Java applications are designed, integrated, and scaled within distributed environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design end to end solution architectures across distributed, Java-based systems
  • Define event-driven integration patterns and messaging strategies
  • Architect Kafka-based event streaming solutions
  • Work closely with engineering teams across Australia and Europe
  • Contribute to architectural governance, design reviews, and technical standards
  • Balance strategic platform direction with practical delivery requirements
Key Skills and Experience
  • Strong background in software engineering or application architecture
  • Solid understanding of Java-based application ecosystems
  • Proven experience designing event-driven architectures
  • Experience working with Kafka and messaging platforms
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems and integration patterns
  • Experience operating in high scale, high-availability digital environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders
  • Previous experience in high-transaction environments is highly advantageous but not mandatory.
Rate: $1200p/d
WFH: 2-3 days per week in CBD Office
