Shift: Monday-Friday 5:30am-2pm(OT is available)
Pay: $18/hour
Job Summary: The Steel Associate is responsible for supporting daily manufacturing operations in a steel fabrication environment. This role involves operating various machine shop tools and equipment to cut, shape, bend, and finish steel components while maintaining quality standards, workplace safety, and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of machine shop tools and equipment to manufacture steel components.
- Perform steel fabrication tasks, including swaging, cutting, punching, bending, cleaning, deburring, and drilling.
- Assist with routine preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment as needed.
- Inspect finished parts visually to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Assist with basic inventory tracking and material handling as needed.
- Safely lift and move materials weighing up to 70 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Support production goals and assist with overtime as needed.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, steel fabrication, or a similar production environment preferred.
- Ability to operate basic manufacturing machinery and shop equipment.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure.
- Ability to perform repetitive lifting up to 70 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Dependable attendance and willingness to work overtime when needed.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain an organized workspace.
