Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician to support the maintenance and reliability of a busy manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and improving production equipment and facility systems to help keep operations running safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical and electrical skills who can diagnose equipment issues, perform preventative maintenance, and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns. The ability to work independently, prioritize repairs, and collaborate with production and maintenance team members is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain production machinery and related equipment.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to identify the cause of equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on production equipment according to established schedules.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance needs in a timely manner.
  • Install, replace, adjust, and repair motors, bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, sensors, switches, and other mechanical and electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits, controls, motors, and control components using appropriate test equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Use tools and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, electrical testers, and other maintenance instruments.
  • Perform basic fabrication, welding, cutting, and mechanical repair as needed.
  • Assist with equipment installation, modification, setup, and relocation.
  • Inspect equipment and identify potential mechanical or electrical problems before they result in downtime.
  • Make equipment adjustments and repairs to maintain safe and reliable operation.
  • Accurately document completed work orders, preventative maintenance, repairs, and parts used.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in an organized and safe condition.
  • Work closely with production personnel to troubleshoot problems and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), OSHA, and all company safety procedures when performing maintenance activities.
  • Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, man lifts, and other equipment as required and authorized.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring equipment problems and recommending practical solutions.
  • Perform other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, electro-mechanical maintenance, or a similar role.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment problems and determine the appropriate repair.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of motors, controls, sensors, switches, bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, and other industrial equipment.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment such as a multimeter.
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also working effectively as part of a maintenance team.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance needs in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and work in various positions throughout the workday.
  • Dependable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Industrial electrical experience.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with motors, VFDs, motor controls, sensors, and industrial control systems.
  • Welding and fabrication experience, including MIG or stick welding.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or man lift experience.
  • Electrical or mechanical trade school, technical training, or relevant certification is a plus.

The right person for this position is someone who can walk up to a piece of equipment that isn't running and methodically figure out why. You should be comfortable working with both electrical and mechanical systems, willing to get your hands dirty, and able to make safe, practical repairs that keep production moving. Strong troubleshooting skills, reliability, and a safety-first mindset are critical to success in this role.
