At Toorak College, our Senior School academic program connects learning with the world beyond the classroom. This is a flexible teaching opportunity with the focus of the role being Accounting within the Senior School. The position is available on either a full-time or part-time basis, with the teaching allocation and combination of subjects’ negotiable according to the successful candidate’s expertise, experience and the College’s operational requirements. Opportunities to teach across other relevant subject areas may also be available.

About You:
You are passionate about Accounting and enjoy inspiring students to understand the relevance of financial literacy, business and economic concepts in both their studies and life beyond school. You will bring enthusiasm, strong subject knowledge and an engaging approach to the classroom, while adapting your teaching practice to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.  Experience teaching Accounting across the Senior School, particularly VCE Accounting, will be highly regarded.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Secondary Education, with relevant qualifications and/or teaching experience in Accounting; additional teaching areas are welcomed.
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience for teaching Senior School Accounting, with experience teaching VCE Accounting highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong ability to connect with and motivate students.
  • A proven capacity for innovative, flexible and research-based teaching practice.
  • A commitment to collaborative practice and ongoing professional learning.
