Water Treatment Engineer / Mechanical Pipefitter

£35,000–£45,000 DOE + Benefits

Leicester-based / UK-wide travel

A hands-on engineering opportunity with a growing specialist water treatment company.

We're working with an established and growing specialist water treatment business that is looking to add an experienced engineer to its team.

This isn't a traditional water hygiene or Legionella role.

You'll be working hands-on with water treatment equipment and mechanical systems, carrying out installations, servicing, commissioning, fault-finding and repairs at commercial and industrial sites throughout the UK.

The company is open to engineers based anywhere in the UK, provided you're comfortable with regular UK-wide travel.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the installation, servicing and repair of a range of water treatment equipment, including:

  • Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems
  • Water softeners
  • Deionisation / DI systems
  • Filtration equipment
  • Pumps and associated equipment
  • Valves and mechanical components
  • Pipework and associated systems

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and commissioning water treatment equipment
  • Planned servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Diagnosing mechanical and equipment faults
  • Carrying out repairs and component replacements
  • Mechanical pipework and installation
  • Fault-finding pumps, valves and associated equipment
  • Testing and commissioning systems
  • Carrying out system modifications and remedial works
  • Producing accurate service and installation reports
  • Working directly with customers on commercial and industrial sites

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in people with a strong mechanical engineering background.

You could currently be working as a:

Water Treatment Engineer | Mechanical Engineer | Mechanical Fitter | Mechanical Pipefitter | Pipefitter | Field Service Engineer | Installation Engineer | Commissioning Engineer

Water treatment experience would be a major advantage, particularly with RO, softeners or DI systems, but it isn't essential.

A strong mechanical engineer or pipefitter with experience working with pumps, valves, pipework and mechanical equipment could be an excellent fit.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has solid hands-on mechanical engineering experience
  • Can install, service and repair equipment
  • Is confident fault-finding and solving problems
  • Has experience with pipework, pumps and valves
  • Can work independently on customer sites
  • Takes pride in the quality of their work
  • Is comfortable travelling throughout the UK
  • Has a full UK driving licence

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to move into a specialist and technically interesting area of engineering.

Full training can be provided on the water treatment side for the right mechanical engineer.

You'll gain experience across a range of technologies including RO, water softening, DI and filtration, working on projects and service requirements across commercial and industrial environments.

What's on Offer?

  • £35,000–£45,000 basic salary, depending on experience
  • UK-wide engineering role
  • Company vehicle / travel package
  • Overtime opportunities
  • Specialist technical training
  • Long-term career development
  • Opportunity to build expertise in a growing specialist sector
