The Company:

Murray Irrigation Limited (MIL) is the largest private irrigation water delivery company in Australia, formed as an unlisted public company in March 1995 when the NSW Government privatised its Murray Irrigation area and districts. The company's irrigators are also shareholders and include 2,100 landholdings across 724,000 hectares in the Southern Riverina.

The existing Board is well established and balanced, and its overall role is to approve the purpose, values and strategic direction, guide and monitor management, assist in achieving its strategic plans and secure its risk profile while ensuring good governance practice.

The Opportunity:

The responsibility for the selection and recommendation to the Board of potential Directors has been delegated to the Remuneration and Nominations Committee (“REMCO”). REMCO is now inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidate(s) seeking to join the board as Independent Directors (Non-Member Directors).

The Murray Irrigation board is currently comprised of eight Member and Independent Directors which meet 10 times per year either in person or online with each Non-Executive Director also being part of one of the board committees. Depending upon the mix of applicant skill sets, the board may appoint one or two Independent Directors, one replacing an existing Director, the second an addition to the current board.

In line with MIL’s Selection and Appointment of Directors Policy, applications are now invited from candidates with expertise in the following skill areas:
  • IT, change management, technology, cyber, and AI
