Product Technical Manager (FEM)

Mission 

• Development of Front End Module and Active Grille Shutter
• Product Technical Manager is accountable for the deliverables of R&D to ensure success of the project.
• He/She is responsible for the detailed scheduling and engineering of R&D activities with support of Expert.
• Product Technical Manager take lead for Engineers to proceed R&D activity.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the deliverables
  • Apply the specific product development plan following the project Management scheme.
  • In charge of the robust design in line with the economical targets.
  • Applies Standardization rules, exceptionally will request destandardizations based on sound justifications.
  • Call for all necessary design reviews.
  • Make sure that Design Reviews of other networks are happening in a timely manner. (Purchase, Industrial)
  • Represent the R&D function at the customer.
  • Interface with the customer for the R&D subjects of the project, break down and cascade internally customer requests and needs.
  • Report and escalate to his project manager or R&D manager as needed.
• Responsible for detailed scheduling and resource planning
  • Contribute to the identification of the needs in terms of resources, equipment, investment
  • Establish detail break down of the activities to meet the milestone
  • Realize development activities and achievement targets for resource goals
• Management of the design development team
  • Daily management of all R&D contributors, dedicated or not
  • Assign to them the work packages needed
  • Regular review with R&D manager and the Expert to check alignment between needs and availabilities.

Requirements

• Engineering Degree
• Experience in R&D development activities: 15 years

【Must required】

• Having experience of design, development and drawing creation by themselves in Exterior, Interior and Body components in about 15 years.
• Possible to calculate theoretical values in a simple model for strength, rigidity, fatigue, vibration, etc., or to calculate using finite element method.
• Able to negotiate and coordinate with people from various departments inside and outside the company.
• Japanese; Native level
• English; TOEIC 650 or equivalent

【Want to be required】

• From the whole schedule of development, able to create and manage specific task settings and schedule goals of the design team.
• Able to negotiate in difficult circumstances and coordinate with people from various departments inside and outside the company.
• For resin injection molded parts or sheet metal press parts, able to design products in consideration of tooling feasibility and assembly process.
• Having experience for experiments by ownly on development.
• English; TOEIC 800 or equivalent
