R&D Director (Mechatronics)

Our client is a global automotive supplier with a presence in over 30 countries. Their purpose is to provide innovative products and systems that contribute to automotive safety and efficiency while contributing to a more ecological world.

This R&D Director will lead the customer interface and manage all R&D technical activities for body related mechatronics.

Responsibilities:

Customer interface:

• Contribute to the construction of the TDPs around components, products, systems, integrating the technology trends, product road maps, market drivers.
• Manage the customer Intimacy with regular meeting and development contact.
• Support the technical communications and marketing actions 

Manage all R&D technical activities:

• Define technical customer strategies
• Optimize the organization of the R&D Teams in his product line for the Processes, Methods and Tools which are needed 
• Build and follow-up budget
• Identify potential synergies with other product lines (for technology needs for instance)
• Define standardization strategy and ensure development of the standards and their implementation

Requirements

• Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical)
• 15 to 20 year experience in R&D development activities; plastics or metals or electronics
• Leadership experience, team management
• Japanese: Native level mandatory
• English: Business level
