Senior Cybersecurity Specialist (Help Desk Focus)

Location: On-Site (Long Island, NY)
Salary: Up to $120,000 base + benefits

Overview

Excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing organization in a hands-on cybersecurity role with strong visibility across the business. This position blends IT support and cybersecurity, serving as a key escalation point while driving important initiatives around compliance, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management.

This is a full-time, on-site role, within a small, collaborative team. You’ll play a critical role in strengthening the company’s cybersecurity posture while supporting day-to-day IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical escalation point for complex IT and endpoint-related issues
• Support and contribute to cybersecurity initiatives, including NIST 800-171 and CMMC compliance efforts
• Perform vulnerability management, remediation, and patching activities
• Manage and monitor endpoint security tools, including CrowdStrike EDR
• Conduct malware screening for sensitive files, including government-related drawings and contracts
• Assist with audit readiness, documentation, and compliance reporting
• Help improve IT service delivery, reduce ticket backlog, and enhance overall support processes
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and security enhancements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, or systems support with cybersecurity exposure
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Endpoint security / EDR tools (CrowdStrike strongly preferred)
  • Vulnerability management and patching
  • Troubleshooting across endpoints and user environments
• Familiarity with NIST 800-171 (CMMC knowledge is a plus)
• Experience in a regulated environment (aerospace, defense, or government) is a plus
• Strong communication skills with the ability to ask questions, escalate issues, and collaborate effectively
• Self-starter with a proactive, problem-solving mindset

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $80,000 – $120,000 (flexible for top candidates)
