Operations Manager - Premium Catering

Are you a commercially savvy hospitality leader who loves the buzz of events, knows great food and beverage, and thrives on making things happen?

We’re looking for an Operations Manager to take the reins of a dynamic catering operation, driving day-to-day performance while building a high-performing team and delivering exceptional experiences for clients and guests. Salary $110-$120k + super.

The Opportunity:
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll have genuine influence across the business. You’ll oversee operations, people, financial performance, food and beverage standards and client relationships, working closely with the Director and Head Chef to continually improve the offering.
You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading the day-to-day operation across catering services and events
• Ensuring exceptional food, beverage and service standards are delivered consistently
• Managing budgets, P&L, COGS and wage costs with a strong commercial focus
• Recruiting, training, mentoring and retaining a high-performing team
• Building strong relationships with clients, venues, suppliers and other stakeholders
• Coordinating staffing and operational requirements for functions and events
• Working closely with the Head Chef on menus, recipes, food quality and kitchen operations
• Managing stock, purchasing, inventory and wastage
• Ensuring food safety, hygiene, WHS and company procedures are consistently followed
• Developing and implementing policies, procedures and improved operational processes
• Identifying opportunities to grow the business and strengthen the food and beverage offering
• Supporting sales and marketing initiatives to maximise revenue and market presence

About You:
You’re an experienced hospitality operator who can confidently move between people, customers, operations and numbers. You’re organised, proactive and comfortable making decisions when things get busy. A Chef background is highly regarded for this role. 
You'll bring:

• Proven experience in a similar hospitality or catering management role
• Strong commercial and financial management skills
• Excellent leadership and team development capability
• A genuine passion for food, beverage and exceptional customer service
• Experience managing functions, events or high-volume operations
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
• The confidence to resolve issues and make decisions under pressure
• A hands-on, positive and solutions-focused approach
• The ability to delegate effectively while remaining accountable for the result
