Location: Dublin 8 – Hybrid (minimum 2 days onsite per week)
Contract: 12 months, with potential 12-month extension
Start Date: 9 October 2026
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day between 08:00–19:00, with occasional out-of-hours flexibility
We are looking for a Junior Unified Communications Support Engineer / Administrator to join the M365 Implementation Unit within a major public-sector organisation. The successful candidate will provide Level 2 support and administration across Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365, helping maintain a stable, secure and effective communications environment.
The Role
You'll be responsible for:
- Providing Level 2 troubleshooting and technical support for Microsoft Teams and related services.
- Managing incidents and service requests through to resolution, ensuring SLA adherence.
- Supporting Teams configuration, administration and troubleshooting, including users, teams, channels, chats and apps.
- Managing Teams policies, settings, memberships and app deployment.
- Supporting Microsoft 365 services including Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online and the Microsoft 365 Admin Centre.
- Monitoring and managing service desk ticket queues and identifying recurring issues for problem management.
- Escalating complex issues to Level 3 teams or Microsoft where appropriate.
- Supporting platform stability, availability, security, patching and updates.
- Maintaining accurate technical documentation and knowledge articles.
- Supporting testing and implementation of service changes.
- Providing coaching, knowledge sharing and training to colleagues, administrators and Teams users.
- Working collaboratively with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure security, compliance and governance across Teams.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A minimum of 3 years' Level 2 ICT Helpdesk/IT Support experience, with a focus on Microsoft Teams administration.
- Practical experience supporting or administering Microsoft Teams, including users, policies, meetings and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Entra ID/Azure AD, Exchange Online and the Microsoft 365 Admin Centre.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to support non-technical users.
- Ability to manage incidents and service requests through to resolution.
- Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing skills.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate certification (or equivalent).
- A Level 6 or higher qualification in Computing, OR relevant ICT Helpdesk experience combined with recognised industry qualifications such as CompTIA A+ or ITIL V4.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
Desirable: Experience working within structured IT service management, problem and change management environments would be advantageous.
