AO7 Accounting Lead

Public Sector People are working with a Queensland State Government Department to recruit an Accounting Lead for a four-month contract based in Northgate, Brisbane. Working closely with senior management, you will play a hands-on role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, audit processes, and board-level documentation through the end-of-financial-year period.

• Rate: AO7 - $88.29 - $94.59 per hour plus super
• Location: Brisbane North

About the role  

• End-of-year reconciliations and workpapers, including KMP remuneration
• Preparation of accruals, EoFY adjustment entries and other end-of-year activities
• Assistance with financial audit requirements and liaison with auditors
• Preparation of annual financial statements, cashflow workings and related supporting documentation
• Drafting board papers for submission to senior leadership
• Budget management support, including preparation of budget advice letters
• General financial analysis, including lease cost-benefit analysis

What we're looking for  

• Demonstrated experience with end-to-end EoFY processes
• Ability to analyse information from multiple perspectives and identify broader financial implications
• Proven knowledge of financial legislation and accounting standards, particularly in financial administration.
• Proficiency with planning, budgeting and forecasting tools

Mandatory Requirement: Current CPA or CA Qualification
