Plant Coordinator

We are seeking an organised and proactive Plant Coordinator to manage the allocation, mobilisation, maintenance and compliance of heavy machinery across a busy project site.

This is a logistical and administrative position and does not involve operating machinery. Reporting to the Superintendent, you will help ensure excavators, graders, bulldozers, trucks and other plant are safe, compliant and available when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily allocation and movement of plant across different work areas.
• Prioritise equipment requirements according to changing project needs.
• Schedule routine servicing, mechanical repairs and mandatory safety inspections.
• Maintain accurate plant registers, registration documents and statutory compliance records.
• Record equipment emissions data and relevant site induction information.
• Act as the primary contact for plant breakdowns.
• Coordinate field mechanics or arrange replacement equipment to minimise downtime.
• Source plant and equipment from external hire companies.
• Coordinate the safe delivery and removal of oversized and heavy machinery.
• Liaise daily with the Superintendent, project managers, supervisors, mechanics and external suppliers.
• Monitor plant utilisation to ensure hired and company-owned assets are being used efficiently.

About You To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience coordinating plant, fleet or heavy equipment in construction, civil, mining or a similar environment.
• Strong planning, administration and record-keeping skills.
• The ability to respond quickly and calmly to breakdowns and changing site priorities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• A current driver’s licence.
