Description:
The Chief Engineer Honda is responsible for driving and ensuring that technical and manufacturing solution meets or exceeds the customer and company objectives/targets. He/She maintains smooth relationship with customers, ensuring projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with company policies and objectives. He/She manages, coaches and leads the product engineers, manages technical work packages, and sets objectives for all team members.
His main missions are to :

Insure locally the direct management of PDL(Program Development Leader) & PML (Program Manufacturing Leader) team

Participate or at least validate and sign the product design & Functional Milestones

Ensure that the technical portion of programs are delivered on time, within budgets, to the satisfaction of the customer

Keep customer and company management informed of product status

Ensure the accuracy of engineering bill of material throughout product development and launch process

Be responsible for APQP documents including DFMEA, DVP&R, Performance Target Setting

Ensure that design content meets NVH, engine performance, weight targets and other targets listed in a SOW type format

During Budget/PMT, plan & check the staffing for their customer (quantity and quality), including serial life

Be informed of all RFQs received for CV customers:

Be part of negotiations if needed (disagreement between the customer standards and Faurecia proposals for any reason such as local market test capacities etc...)

Validate and challenge technical definitions, DVP

Validate Development budget

Consulted for the GO-NO GO

Be the Product development representative in Program Steering committee

Pilot transversal actions (regarding programs) in direct link with CBU manager
-
Promote innovation in coordination with Product Line Engineering
He works with the CBU Manager to ensure staffing of PDL and PML for programs, product robustness and technical relationship with supervisors.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Level: Bachelor Degree (Master's degree advanatage) in engineering with strong competencies in mechanical and thermomechanical durability, materials, CFD, acoustics
The ideal candidate will have/be:

Minimum of 10 years experience in Design & Development within Passenger Vehicle

Communication and problem solving skills

Leadership
-
Familiar with primary manufacturing methods : tube and sheet metal forming, welding assembly

Strong practice of product development tools FMEA, GD&T…
-
General automotive knowledge and Tier 1 or EOM engineering experience

APQP experience
-
Strong teamwork mindset
-
Japanese fluent speaker with business level of English
