About the Company

Davidson Technology are working with a State Government Department to secure an experienced Systems Engineer (Microsoft 365) who will focus on guiding and overseeing tenant migration activities required by a machinery of Government program.


About the Role

As the Systems Engineer (Microsoft 365), you’ll be responsible for providing technical leadership and expert guidance across Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Azure, and enterprise application environments, with a strong focus on tenant migration activities supporting Machinery of Government (MoG) programs. This will involve designing and managing secure, scalable identity and collaboration solutions, analysing business and technical requirements, and developing architecture and integration designs that align with organisational standards and government frameworks. Working closely with Modern Workplace, Azure, Architecture, and Microsoft Services teams, you’ll oversee migration planning, validation, pilot activities, and implementation to ensure seamless transitions across identity, email, Teams, SharePoint, and security services. You will provide expert advice on solution enhancements, manage risks and issues, conduct quality reviews, and collaborate with stakeholders, application owners, and project teams to ensure successful delivery of Microsoft 365 and cloud-based solutions while maintaining system stability, security, and alignment with approved architectural designs.


About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll be a highly experienced Systems Engineer (Microsoft 365) with over 7 years of expertise delivering and supporting large-scale Microsoft 365 environments, specialising in tenant migration, separation, and transformation projects. Possessing deep technical knowledge across Microsoft Entra ID, Entra Connect, Azure Services, identity synchronisation, Microsoft 365 applications, and cloud-based collaboration platforms, you’ll have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex tenant migrations, including identity cutovers, mailbox migrations, Teams rehoming, SharePoint reconfiguration, and conditional access updates. Skilled in assessing application dependencies, designing secure identity architectures, and producing high-quality solution designs, architectural diagrams, and technical documentation, you will excel at modelling current, transitional, and target-state architectures. With strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and customer service skills, you’ll effectively collaborate across technical and business teams while maintaining compliance with enterprise governance, cyber security frameworks, and government ICT standards. A degree-qualified professional with Microsoft certifications highly regarded, they consistently deliver reliable, high-quality outcomes within complex enterprise environments.


The Benefits

You will be offered a 6-month contract on an excellent hourly rate and the ability to negotiate a flexible working arrangement for the duration of the assignment as well as the potential for further extensions.
