We’re looking for an experienced Principal Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major digital health initiative focused on improving how healthcare providers send, receive and manage electronic referrals.
This is a senior delivery role working within a large and complex healthcare environment. You’ll take ownership of project planning, governance, stakeholder engagement and delivery while leading a multidisciplinary team and working closely with senior stakeholders, vendors and technical specialists.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading the end-to-end delivery of a complex digital health / ICT project
- Defining project scope, objectives, deliverables and delivery plans
- Managing schedules, dependencies, risks, issues, budgets and resources
- Providing strategic advice to ensure project outcomes align with organisational standards, architecture and governance requirements
- Working closely with senior stakeholders, project boards, clinical teams, technical teams and vendors
- Leading stakeholder engagement across a complex healthcare environment
- Managing vendor relationships and coordinating third-party delivery
- Leading and mentoring multidisciplinary project teams
- Establishing strong project governance, reporting and decision-making processes
- Identifying delivery risks early and adjusting the approach where required to keep the project on track
What We’re Looking For
You’ll ideally bring:
- Extensive experience delivering large-scale, complex IM/ICT or digital transformation projects
- Strong experience as a Senior / Principal Project Manager or Program Manager
- Previous experience within healthcare or digital health environments
- Strong knowledge of digital integration, interoperability and application/platform delivery
- Experience working with data governance, privacy and cybersecurity requirements
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and project boards
- Strong vendor and commercial management experience
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring multidisciplinary teams
- Strong negotiation, facilitation, problem-solving and communication skills
- Solid experience with formal project management methodologies, ideally PRINCE2
- Previous experience working within a large government health environment will be highly regarded.
