An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Business Partner – Data Services to join a high-performing data and analytics environment supporting better outcomes across a large public-sector organisation.
This role sits within a strategic division focused on improving organisational performance through data-driven insights, effective governance and high-quality data services.
As a Business Partner, you will be the key connection between business stakeholders and a specialist Data Operations & Service function. You will understand business needs, translate requirements into clear and achievable data solutions, and coordinate work from initial request through to delivery and ongoing support.

About the role
As the Business Partner – Data Services, you will:
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior leaders and business teams.
- Understand current and emerging business needs and translate these into clear requirements for data and technology teams.
- Plan and coordinate business partnering activities that support strategic and operational objectives.
- Work with stakeholders to shape and prioritise requests for data, reports, dashboards and enhancements to existing data products.
- Coordinate business participation in user acceptance testing and support activities.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Test Analysts and other technical specialists to develop solution options and understand delivery effort.
- Negotiate priorities, timeframes and expectations to ensure achievable and valuable outcomes.
- Maintain oversight of requests through the delivery lifecycle, ensuring work is appropriately prioritised and tracked.
- Coordinate the investigation and resolution of complex data and reporting issues.
- Provide guidance, knowledge transfer and problem-solving support to stakeholders.
- Prepare advice, updates and briefings for senior leaders and executives.
- Contribute to a collaborative, customer-focused and high-performing data services environment.
About you
You will be an experienced business partnering or business analysis professional who can confidently operate between business and technical environments.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience in business partnering, business analysis, project delivery or a related discipline.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated experience understanding business needs and translating them into practical technical or data solutions.
- Experience supporting organisational change and guiding stakeholders through change.
- Strong knowledge of data analytics, business intelligence and data warehouse concepts.
- The ability to understand technical information and communicate it clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills, including the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- A customer-focused approach and a commitment to delivering practical, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications
A relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Communications, Project Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
Relevant experience and demonstrated capability are also valued.
