System Engineer (Wire harness)

Responsibilities

• Design electrical circuits for automotive wiring harnesses and related components
• Analyze vehicle and system requirements from OEMs and reflect them in circuit designs
• Create and maintain electrical schematics using ECAD tools
• Select electrical components such as wires, connectors, terminals, fuses, and relays
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including mechanical design, manufacturing, etc.
• Communicate and collaborate with OEM customers and suppliers on technical issues and design reviews
• Support root cause analysis and implement design improvements for design/quality issues
• Execute design tasks in accordance with project schedules and cost targets

Requirements

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Practical experience in electrical circuit design (industry experience preferred but not mandatory)
• Ability to read, understand, and create electrical schematics
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to read, write, and conduct basic conversations in Japanese (English preferred but not mandatory)

Skills

• Basic knowledge of automotive wiring harnesses and vehicle electrical systems (Preferred)
• Experience with Cabling Designer ECAD tool (Preferred)
• Ability to design in compliance with OEM requirements and automotive standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional and multicultural environments
• Ability to operate Microsoft tools especially Excel software
• Positive motivation and eagerness to learn and grow by oneself
