Medical Assistant

A health services network in New York City is actively seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) for an ambulatory care practice on Staten Island to support both clinical and administrative functions in a patient-centered clinic setting. The role offers a mix of front office coordination and hands-on clinical support for a high-volume care team.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day shift
• Schedule: Monday through Friday
• Hours: Standard business
• Setting: Clinic

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and guests, monitor wait times, and support patient flow in the waiting area
• Assist with check-in, check-out, registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and document scanning
• Answer phones, take messages, manage communications, and coordinate follow-up on patient needs
• Support clinical care under supervision by obtaining vitals, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, and maintaining exam rooms
• Document patient information and care activities in the EMR, and help ensure records, forms, and lab results are complete and accurate

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program, or eligibility to sit for the national certification exam and pass within 18 months of hire
• At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in an ambulatory care setting
• Experience navigating an electronic medical record system

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Epic
• Associate degree
• 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in an ambulatory care setting
