Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect (InterSystems) to lead the design and implementation of healthcare interoperability and integration solutions. The role focuses on architecting scalable, secure, and high-performance systems built on InterSystems HealthShare and IRIS for Health, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and healthcare data interoperability requirements.

Key Responsibilities Solution & Architecture Design
  • Design end-to-end solutions using InterSystems HealthShare / IRIS for Health.
  • Define integration architecture for clinical and enterprise systems.
  • Architect scalable deployment models (on-premise, cloud, hybrid).
  • Ensure solutions support interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and CDA/CCDA.
  • Design data flows, APIs, and integration patterns for healthcare data exchange.
Technical Leadership
  • Act as subject matter expert for InterSystems-based solutions.
  • Guide development teams on best practices (ObjectScript, DTL, BPL, XSLT).
  • Conduct architecture reviews and ensure adherence to design standards.
  • Provide guidance on performance tuning and system optimisation.
Integration & Governance
  • Oversee integration between healthcare systems (e.g., EMR/EHR, HIE platforms, external systems).
  • Ensure secure handling of patient data including authentication, authorisation, and data privacy controls.
  • Support implementation of interoperability frameworks and data standardisation.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and technical teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Provide input on project estimation, risk assessment, and solution feasibility.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex integration issues.
Requirements
  • 8–12+ years of experience in IT solution architecture or healthcare integration roles.
  • Strong experience with InterSystems HealthShare, IRIS for Health, or Ensemble/Caché.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7 v2, FHIR, CDA/CCDA).
  • Experience designing large-scale integration or middleware solutions.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts, data modelling, and system performance tuning.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Preferred
  • InterSystems certification (Architect-level or equivalent).
  • Experience integrating with hospital systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Familiarity with healthcare analytics or reporting platforms.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
