Apply directHorizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Manager, Public Practice on behalf of a growing boutique accounting and advisory firm serving private corporations, incorporated professionals, and high-net-worth families across British Columbia and Alberta.
This is an opportunity to join a partner-led firm where you will take ownership of meaningful client relationships while working on a broad mix of tax, advisory, and financial consulting engagements. The successful candidate will play an important role in the firm's continued growth, mentor developing professionals, and build the experience needed for a clear path toward future leadership.
Responsibilities
- Manage client engagements across corporate tax compliance, tax planning, review engagements, and financial advisory services.
- Act as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of clients, providing responsive and trusted advice.
- Partner with clients on outsourced CFO services, including financial strategy, cash flow management, and operational planning.
- Review work completed by junior team members and provide coaching that supports their professional development.
- Build strong, long-term client relationships by understanding business goals and identifying opportunities to add value.
- Collaborate with partners on succession planning, estate planning, business valuations, and transaction advisory engagements.
- Contribute to business development efforts by expanding existing client relationships and supporting new client growth.
- Deliver high-quality client service while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Help strengthen team performance by sharing knowledge, supporting collaboration, and maintaining technical excellence.
Requirements
- CPA designation.
- Minimum five years of progressive experience in public practice accounting.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate and personal tax, ASPE, and review engagements.
- Experience managing client relationships independently.
- Background working with owner-managed businesses, incorporated professionals, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Proficiency with CaseWare and Taxprep.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to mentor junior staff and review engagement files.
- Proactive, accountable, and committed to delivering exceptional client service.

Remuneration
- Salary range of $90,000 to $120,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
- Performance-based bonus.
