The Company:
An established and respected commercial vehicle engineering business is seeking an experienced Fabricator to join its growing production team. The company specialises in the manufacture of high-quality truck bodies and is recognised for delivering reliable engineering solutions to customers across the UK. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a skilled Fabricator to become part of a professional and dedicated workshop team.
Job Description:
As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding truck bodies from pre-cut steel components using detailed engineering drawings. The successful Fabricator will play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Daily duties for the Fabricator will include:
• Fabrication and welding of beavertail truck bodies
• Cutting, preparing, and assembling steel components
• MIG welding in down hand, vertical, and overhead positions
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication specifications
• Using a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Ensuring all work is completed to required quality standards
• Identifying and resolving fabrication issues when required
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards within the work area
• Following all company health and safety procedures
• Working closely with colleagues to achieve production targets and delivery schedules
The Fabricator will be expected to work efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on workmanship, quality, and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience:
• Previous experience working as a Fabricator within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Skilled in MIG welding
• NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding or a recognised apprenticeship
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience fabricating and assembling steel components
• Good understanding of fabrication tools, equipment, and machinery
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Knowledge of safe working practices and workshop safety procedures
• Reliable with excellent timekeeping and attendance
• Physically fit and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to the wider team
