Senior Software Engineer

Our client is the independent national regulator for electricity and gas markets in Australia. Its core purpose is to protect energy consumers to ensure a secure, reliable, and affordable energy supply

About the role

The successful candidate will have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and providing technical leadership to a team of software engineers. You will be responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide scope and sizing of work for inclusion in sprint cycles.
• Design and develop solutions to operational problems and issues.
• Manage and resolve defects as part of the standard development process.
• Manage and own assigned tickets through to completion.

Technical Skills

Demonstrated experience developing and supporting cloud applications, including: - AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, DynamoDB and RDS - Python, JavaScript or TypeScript and modern application frameworks - CI/CD pipelines, Git, cloud security and troubleshooting.

What is on offer

• Contract through to the 30th of June 2027.
• Competitive hourly rate.

Candidates based in Canberra, Victoria, Sydney, Queensland, or Adelaide will be considered.

Security Requirements:

To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen. Due to the work environment, our client has requested that all candidates are required to hold a current NV1 Security Clearance.
