Field Service Engineer – Medical Equipment

Location: Dublin

The Company:

Our client is a global market leader within the medical equipment sector, with a long-established presence internationally and a reputation for high-quality technical solutions.

They specialise in equipment used within hospital decontamination, infection control, CSSD and theatre environments. Their portfolio includes endoscopy equipment, medical washers, dryers, storage systems and decontamination solutions for surgical instruments.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to add a Field Service Engineer to their Dublin team.

The Role:

As Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, installation and validation of specialist medical equipment across hospital environments.

You will work directly with hospital customers, particularly within CSSD, infection control and theatre departments, ensuring equipment is operating correctly and providing technical support when required.

Your role will include:

  • Servicing and maintaining medical equipment
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance
  • Installing and commissioning new equipment
  • Validation of equipment and systems
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues
  • Working with endoscopy equipment, medical washers, dryers and storage systems
  • Providing technical support to hospital customers
  • Managing your own service schedule and customer visits
  • Completing relevant service documentation

This is predominantly a Dublin-based position with no regular travel or overnight stays required.

Full product and technical training will be provided.

The Person:

The company is very open on background and will consider candidates at different stages of their career.

You could be:

  • An Engineering graduate looking for your first Field Service Engineer position
  • A graduate with 1–2 years' technical or engineering experience
  • A qualified electrician or someone from another electrical/mechanical trade
  • An experienced Field Service Engineer working on electrical or mechanical equipment
  • A Service Engineer already working within medical equipment
  • Someone with CSSD or medical decontamination equipment experience

Ideally, you will have a qualification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical or a related technical discipline. Trade-qualified candidates will also be considered.

For graduate candidates in particular, you will need to be polished, confident and comfortable working in front of medical professionals. You will be representing the company onsite within hospital environments, so communication and customer-facing skills are important alongside your technical ability.

Previous CSSD, decontamination or medical equipment experience is highly desirable and can command the higher end of the salary range, but it is not essential.
