Principal Engineer – Salesforce

Melbourne | Hybrid | Contract through to end of May 2027 (plus potential extensions)

We’re working with a large Australian financial services organisation looking for an experienced Principal Salesforce Engineer to join an established engineering team.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role supporting two funded programs of work, including a significant cyber resilience initiative.

You’ll work within a cross-functional squad, remaining close to the technology while providing technical direction, reviewing solutions and coaching other engineers.

The role

  • Hands-on Salesforce engineering and technical leadership
  • Design and delivery of secure, scalable Salesforce solutions
  • Technical design, code reviews and engineering guidance
  • Work across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Financial Services Cloud
  • Integration work across MuleSoft, REST APIs and connected services
  • Support security and vulnerability remediation across the Salesforce platform
  • Work closely with Architecture, Security, Cloud, Data and Delivery teams
  • Support strong CI/CD and engineering practices

About you

We’re looking for:

  • 8+ years' Salesforce development experience
  • At least 2 years in a technical leadership capacity
  • Strong hands-on Apex and LWC experience
  • Strong Sales Cloud and Service Cloud experience
  • Experience with enterprise integrations and APIs
  • Good understanding of secure engineering and DevOps practices
  • Ability to coach engineers while remaining genuinely hands-on

Experience with Financial Services Cloud, MuleSoft, cyber/security programs, AWS/Azure or broader software engineering would be advantageous.

This would suit an established Principal Engineer, Salesforce Technical Lead or Lead Salesforce Engineer who can come in quickly and take ownership within a mature enterprise environment.
