SOE Systems Engineer

Role: Senior SOE Systems Engineer
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Duration: 36 months
Clearance: NV1 Minimum

We’re seeking a Senior SOE (Standard Operating Environment) Systems Engineer to support and uplift modern workplace / endpoint capabilities. You’ll work across SOE design, build, automation, endpoint management, and security hardening, partnering closely with technical teams and stakeholders to improve operational outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders and system administrators to optimise ICT solutions (implementation, usage, and ongoing management).
• Diagnose and resolve operational and technical issues across the endpoint/SOE environment.
• Contribute to and maintain a knowledge base (documentation, runbooks, procedures, and policies).
• Participate in software configuration planning and change management.
• Identify and escalate design/build/testing/quality risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
• Enforce compliance requirements within the ICT environment (security, configuration standards, governance).
• Provide knowledge transfer to other teams and contribute to continuous improvement of ICT practices.
• Mentor/coach team members; support delivery within agreed timeframes and quality expectations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational standards.

• SOE design, build and automation
• Identity & access management (IAM) integration
• Endpoint security hardening and compliance
• Enterprise integration and modern workplace technologies
• Strong documentation skills (system design, implementation documentation, procedures)
