About the Role
This full-time STEM / Technology teaching position will commence in Term 1, 2027 and is expected to include a combination of Systems Engineering, Woodwork and Information Technology. The exact 2027 timetable is still being finalised, allowing some flexibility around the successful candidate's strengths and teaching methods. The initial appointment will be a 12-month contract covering long service leave; however, there is a strong possibility the position will transition to ongoing due to an anticipated retirement.
Skills and Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned programs across Systems Engineering, Woodwork, IT and related STEM areas.

Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and safe practice within workshops, technology spaces and classrooms.

Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues regarding learning, assessment and student progress.

Collaborate with Technology and STEM colleagues to support curriculum planning, practical projects and effective use of specialist facilities.

Build student confidence through practical, problem-solving and technology-focused learning while contributing to broader school initiatives.
Requirements

Current VIT registration or eligibility for registration

Relevant secondary teaching qualifications

Ability to teach across Systems Engineering, Woodwork, IT and/or related Technology areas

Appropriate knowledge of safety requirements within practical and workshop-based learning environments

Full Australian working rights
